DE O’Connor “To be the best I got to put in the insane hours of work”

Payton O’Connor’s father introduced the big defensive end to football at a young age. Every Sunday possible since Payton was a little kid, he would watch football by his Dad’s side.

“I used to see someone make a spectacular catch or a big hit and I’d get adrenaline rushes just sitting on the coach watching,” he said. “After a player made a big play you could see a fire in their eyes an intensity, a swagger that they possessed that can make you feel like “Oh He’s the man!” And that’s why I started football because I wanted that feeling, I wanted to be the man, I wanted to make the big plays and that’s really what got me started.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
