Cormier began his career at the peewee level for the Cumberland Wolf Pack, playing there for two years, winning both an Offensive Player of the Year Award in addition to being named the team’s Most Valuable Player.

In Grade 9, he transferred to Tantramar Regional High School in Sackville, New Brunswick and has played for the Titans of the New Brunswick High School Football League (NBHSFL) ever since. Cormier was part of the Titans squad that won the NBHSFL Championship during the 2015 season. Cormier said it was the highlight of his season.

“We had an undefeated season and it was the most fun I’ve ever had playing football,” said the lineman who was also named to the NBHSFL’s Offensive All-Star Team.

Cormier stated that he has been enjoying the recruitment process so far, having already talked to some university coaches and learning about what the different universities have to offer both on and off the field. He hopes to visit the University of Ottawa within the next couple of months and also have game day visits with Acadia, Mount Allison and St. FX. While Zach would like to play the sport at the highest level he can, he would like to become a doctor when his playing career is done.

Cormier works out five times a week, often with other teammates. During the offseason he has been working out and focusing on getting stronger for next season.

Zach credits his coaches for being his most influential people in football, while crediting his parents and grandparents for being his biggest influences on his life.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
