DL Dubé wants to “play better and harder”

Cougars standout taking time during CIS recruitment process

Chicoutimi Cougars defensive lineman Jeoffrey Dube has set major goals when it comes to his play this fall and hopes CIS recruiters take notice.

Dubé started playing football in high school with the Séminaire de Chicoutimi Titans, where he played for three years.

The lineman is entering his fourth season with CEGEP Divison 3’s Chicoutimi Cougars.

The player decided to play with the Cougars for personal reasons, but also for his studies.

“I am from Chicoutimi, and it was important for me to stay in my hometown,” said Dube.  “The CEGEP also gave me the opportunity to study in the program that I wanted to.”

“At the end, it was definitely the best choice I could make.”

The player said the CIS recruiting process is going well.

“A few CIS schools approached me during the last season, and I also had some offers,” said the offensive lineman.  “The quality of the university represents a priority for me, so I am taking my time.”

“I am still unsure with my plans for the future.”

He also admitted that even though his gridiron future is important, he is entirely focused on the upcoming season.

“I am trying to keep all my energy to improve myself as a player and to play at my best potential.” maintained Dubé.

His main influences and motivation comes from his family, teammates and coaches. The player said that having them in his life helps him to get through the hard times. He also mentioned that without all of them, he would not be the player he is right now.

“At the moment, I am training on a daily basis to improve my strength and my ability to perfom well,” offered Dubé of his training regimen which he will be focusing his training on being stronger and faster. “I want to play harder, and better!”
