Dream realized for CEGEP recruit (VIDEO)

CEGEP quarterback/receiver joins RSEQ team’s 2015 class.

Christian Dallaire has made a childhood dream come true.

The 6’0, 178 pound quarterback/receiver from St. Georges de Beauce, Quebec has committed to the Laval Rouge et Or.Β  Dallaire will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

After his official visit to the Rouge et Or, the Quebec standout knew this was the perfect fit for him.

β€œFirst, to play for this university has been a dream for me since I was little,” commented Dallaire on his commitment.Β  β€œDuring my visit to Laval, I enjoyed it.”

β€œGlen Constantin was not there to sell me the team’s salad; he just told me what that was and why they recruited me. Β He then presented the facilities the university had to offer and I was just amazed by the grandeur and diversity.”

Daillaire comes to the Rouge et Or after completing a three year stint with CEGEP Division 2 team, Beauce-Appalaches Condors. This past season, he completed 33 passes in 46 attempts for 466 yards, six passing touchdowns and an interception.Β  Moreover, he racked up 384 yards on 25 receptions, four receiving majors and 231 rushing yards on 23 carries.

During his 11 year gridiron career, the Quebec quarterback/receiver has played at various levels including Spring League (three years), and High School (five years – two at Benjamin, one at Cadet β€˜AA’ and two at Midget β€˜AAA’)

Throughout his career, Dallaire has played at several positions including defensive back (halfback), linebacker, running back, receiver, quarterback as well as special teams (return specialist, long snapper).

β€œI’ve never had a fixed position for a full season,” added Dallaire.Β  β€œThis does not favor the statistics, but that is very profitable for the team.”

β€œHome football is a way of life! Being the eldest of seven children and also a long line of four football players, we were lucky to have a father who also played as a receiver, quarterback and kicker. He taught everything we know since a young age.”
