DT Bony ready to ball

Bony Ricardy Ā is a defensive tackle playing for the St-Leonard Cougars in QuebĆ©c.

The class of 2018 graduate weighs in at a monstrous 280 pounds and just a 5’9 frame.

Ricardy has only played organized football for six years but he has quickly grown into a player to watch with his talents.

“All of my life I have played for the Cougars. In 2015 I played for the All-Stars Monsters in MRFL and this past year I played for the QBFL All-Stars team,” said Ricardy.

Ricardy stands out not only as a big body, but he has the ability to wrap his arms around and make a tackle or stuff a run up the middle for minimal game or behind the line.

Ricardy doesn’t take after any current professional player in either the CFL or NFL, he’s an independent thinker.

“I don’t have a model player. I play my style,” he explained. “When I hit the offensive line every play and I make an impact, that’s what I like.”

Ricardy racked up an impressive stat line in his most recent season with the QuebƩc based Cougars, recording 34 tackles and managing to bring down the opposing quarterback for an impressive seven sacks.

Ricardy’s dedication to the craft shows through his personality.

“Football for me is not a simple pastime. It’s my life.”

He hasn’t figured out where he is or wants to go to college yet, with still a year remaining before really having to commit to a program. RicardyĀ says he is ready for the next step.

“I think I will be able to play at that level. At the beginning It will be hard for me but I can handle that and I love a challenge.”

Ricardy credits his coaches during every step of the way and his friends as people who inspire him to be more than a footnote in the football world.
