East Ontario kicks field goal with 10 seconds left to win game over Alberta


In the opening game of day 3 of football canada cup, East Ontario kicker Tyler Crapigna kicked a 29 yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining to make the final 23 to 22 for ontario. Alberta scored a touchdown just a minute earlier and chose to not go for a two point convert.

The game featured big plays on both sides of the ball. Alberta’s #17 Kristopher Stretton opened the scoring on a 94 yard pass and run play. David Nsabua (playing both ways) scored an equally impressive 106 yard pass and run play minutes later.

East Ontario was up 20 to 9 and seemed to be in control until back to back touchdowns by #5 Dexter Brown. The second TD (after onside kick recovered) making the score 21 to 20 and alberta settled for the one point convert attempt.

With 2nd and long in their own end with less than 1 minute to go Alberta chose to pass the ball and East Ontario’s Sam Jamieson intercepted the ball and returned it to the alberta 40 yard line. Five plays later East Ontario’s Tyler Crapigna sealed the victory with a 29 yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining. East gets 7th place and Alberta settles for 8th.
