Easy decision

Toronto defensive back newest recruit for OUA team’s 2014 class

For one recruit, making his decision on his future was not a hard one.

Recently, Kajun Lake decided that the York Lions is the right for him to continue the next stage of his football career.

“Committing to York wasn’t a hard decision for me,” explained Lake of his choice.  “The coaching staff was great and I felt like I was already part of the team during my visit.”

“The coaches were very friendly and straight forward in regards to what it’s going to take for me to start and their expectations of me before camp starts, which I really liked. I already know the York campus and as a dual-sport (track) athlete York gives me the best opportunity to excel in both sports.”

The 6’3, 200 defensive back from Toronto, Ontario saw the potential and promise the OUA team possessed and wants to make a significant contribution in years to come.

“I’ve followed the program over the last couple years and I like where it’s heading,” said Lake.  “The Lions are going to be doing some big things in the next couple years and I want to play a role in it.”

“I know if I play at my level throughout camp ,I can make an impact on the field in my first season. I’m looking forward to camp learning under Coach Craney (Warren – Head Coach) and Sidibe (Mobido – Defensive Backs).”

Recently, the defensive standout played high school football for Silverthorn Spartans of the Toronto District Secondary Schools Athletic Association (TDSSAA).
