Edmonton strong

Levon Hawreliak

Local offensive standouts newest recruits for CWUAA team’s 2014 class.

Two Edmonton offensive guns have chosen to stay home for their CIS careers.

Kain Kell and Levon Hawreliak are the newest additions to the Alberta Golden Bears. Both players will join the team for the 2014 CWUAA season.

Kain Kell

KAIN KELL:

The 6’2, 185 pound receiver from Edmonton, Alberta was impressed by both the football and academic programs at the Alberta university.

β€œI decided to sign with Alberta because I like how structured their program is not only with football but with the academic side too,” explained Kell of his commitment.Β  β€œWith as good of a coaching staff as they have, with all the other players that they have and that have also committed, I like to imagine that there is a lot of good things ahead there.”

Kell comes to the Golden Bears after completing his high school career with Harry Ainlay Titans of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA).

Levon Hawreliak

LEVON HAWRELIAK:

Staying at home was the best option for the 5’10, 190 pound running back from Edmonton, Alberta. Overall, Hawreliak looks forward to helping the team strive for success in future years.

β€œI felt like there were too many good people in my life to move away from,” expressed the Alberta offensive standout.Β  β€œI would put Edmonton’s local football talent up against anywhere else in Canada and I’m looking to help rebuild the program and I have a ton of faith that this team will be very successful in the near future.”

β€œCoach (Chris) Morris has the team going in a great direction.”

Hawreliak recently finished his high school career with Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA).Β  This past season, he racked up 1928 rushing yards on 231 carries and scored eight rushing touchdowns with the Thunderbirds.Β  Hawreliak has also previously played for the Edmonton Wildcats.
