Edmonton Wildcats and Edmonton Huskies in a cross-town match-up

The Edmonton Wildcats are hosting the Edmonton Huskies this Saturday night at Clarke Stadium for the first cross-town match-up of the season!

Both teams are coming into the game 0-2 and are looking for a win. Despite the disappointing end result of the last two games, the Wildcats have a lot of hope for this upcoming game. “We’re a young team”, says Head Coach Darcy Park. “We saw some of that inexperience come through in the last two games through penalties and missed opportunities. But we’ve reviewed film, worked on where our weaknesses showed, and are feeling ready for Saturday’s game”.

Last weekend, Quarterback Colton Hippe completed 17 out of 25 passes for a total of 263 yards. Running Back Bray Josue carried 15 times for 77 yards and ran in one touchdown. Receiver Isaac Fagnan had 4 catches for 77 yards, and Luther Hakunavanhu had 2 catches for 41 yards, with both catches leading to a touchdown.

On the defensive end of the ball Linebacker Taylor Visser lead the defense with 7 tackles, 3 assisted tackles, and 1 special teams tackle. Defensive End Travis Loov followed close behind him with 6 tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 1 special teams assist, and 1 knock down.

This is the first of three times the Wildcats and Huskies will meet in the 2016 regular season. Kick-off is Saturday night at 7pm at Clarke Stadium.
