Etobicoke Eagles peewee survive late rally from Mississauga Warriors, win 24 to 16

Etobicoke, ON – Fans did not leave their seats and enjoyed a wild final 3 minutes in Ontario Minor Football League (OMFL) peewee opening day action at Centennial Stadium between the hometown Eagles and the visiting Mississauga Warriors.

With the Warriors trailing by 16 points, Devin Condlin scored his 2nd touchdown of the game; and the Warriors followed it up with a successful 2 point convert. Mississauga attempted an onside kick but the Eagles recovered. But just 2 plays later the Warriors stripped the ball and recovered it at midfield. Cue the drama. The Warriors drove down the field and scored what potentially could have been a game tying touchdown (if the 2 point convert was successful) but it was called back on a penalty. Unfortunately for the visitors they could not convert and the ball was taken over on downs by the Eagles. FINAL SCORE 24 TO 16.
