SHERBROOKE, Que. – Despite falling 41-0 to the Vert & Or Wednesday evening in exhibition play, the Gee-Gees see this as an opportunity to learn from mistakes made and work even harder before kicking off their season next week.
βThe scoreboard doesnβt reflect the way our guys played,β said head coach Jean-Philippe Asselin.
βWe played a lot of first year guys and we didnβt dress 11 starters. It was an awesome learning experience and we will use it to our advantage in the next week to prepare for our first regular season game against Windsor.β
And that is exactly the main purpose of the exhibition season: figure out what works, what doesnβt, and what changes need to be made to be set for start of the regular season.
The Gee-Gees have less than six days remaining before their season opening game against the Lancers, in Windsor next Tuesday, August 31.
