Burlington receiver newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2014 class
One official visit sealed the deal for Victor Fasullo.
Consequently, the 5ā10, 172 pound receiver/kick return specialist from Burlington, Ontario has decided to continue his gridiron career with the Waterloo Warriors.
āIt only took one trip to Waterloo to meet the coaches and I basically signed on the spot,ā recalled Fasullo.Ā āAfter talking with the coaches I knew right then that I wanted to go there because they already made me feel like part of the family and Waterloo is definitely more of a family than a team, after meeting a few of the guys I could tell they were all really close, and since signing about a month ago I’ve already become buddies with a guy on the team.ā
āThe whole coaching staff knows exactly what they want and need to do with this team to turn it around from the past couple years and I really wanted to be a part of a team thatās going to work as hard as possible to turn things around and become a top competitor in the CIS.ā
Additionally, academics, proximity as well as an opportunity to play sooner factored into his decision.
āI was also aware that there are many first and second year guys that were already dressing and getting on the field, so I know Iād have the opportunity to play even as a freshman,ā said the Burlington receiver.Ā āI’m not a guy who would want to sit back and wait my turn.ā
āI want to get out there and show the coaches Iād fit perfectly into the offence/special teams. Besides football, Waterloo as an academic school is for sure one of, if not the top school in Canada to be able to go to which drove home wanting to go there even more.ā
Fasullo joins the Warriors after completing his high school career with the Nelson Lords of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA).Ā This past season, the team reached the Halton Tier 1 semi-finals but lost to their rivals, Corpus Christi Longhorns.
