The Football Canada Coaches Association (FCCA) is proud to announce that Ontario high school coaching legend, Mike Circelli will present at the 2012 FCCA Convention.
The FCCA Convention is a coaching development opportunity which features presentations from some of the premier minor, junior, Canadian and American university, as well as the Canadian Football League and National Football League coaches.
Circelli will present on βDeveloping a successful football programβ — a topic he can draw from his own experiences, after rebuilding the Catholic Central High School (CCH) football program (London, ON).
Circelli returned to CCH in 1984, six years into a teaching career which began at Ursuline College in Chatham. At the time, the Crusaders had not won a championship since β72, a team on which Circelli himself was a lineman.
As CCH football coach, Circelli guided the Crusaders to 14 city, 3 provincial and 2 (unofficial) national championships, 4 WOSSA titles and 2 OFSAA titles. From 1987 to 2005, Circelli led the Crusaders to 19 straight city championships and posted a career win-loss record (including playoffs) of 189 and 34.
As a student, Circelli played numerous sports at Catholic Central from β68 to β73. Mike continued his career at The University of Western Ontario, winning the 1974 Vanier Cup. He spent the next two years as captain of the London Beefeaters, a team he would later coach (2001 – 2003) and currently oversees as General Manager.
