
Montreal quarterback Alexandre Nadeau-Piuze and his receivers set a new team record with 405 yards in passing yards. In total, the Carabins offensive unit amassed 504 yards, against only 200 for the Vert & Or
The visitors scored their first major of the season when Nadeau-Piuze hooked up with Alexandre Fortier-LabontΓ© in the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown pass.
In the second quarter, while the Sherbrooke offensive unit continued to struggle, Gael Bernard Perron blocked aΒ Β Jean-Daniel Knight punt, recovering it deep in the Montreal end. Unfortunately, Sherbrooke had to settle for three points on the sequence, courtesy of kicker William Dion.
In the second quarter Nadeau-Piuze three touchdowns to freshmen Ali Ndao and Mikhail Davidson, with scores of 16-yards and 17-yards respectively .
Halftime score was 21-4 for Montreal (William Dion added a point on a missed field goal).
The second half saw Sherbrooke abandon the run game and rely on QB JΓ©rΓ©mi Roch, despite pressure from the visitors, the rest of the game.
William Dion scored his second field goal of the evening at the beginning of foruth quarter, but Nadeau-Piuze immediately responded by scoring his first touchdown of the season on a one-yard run.
“We must give credit to the Carabins who came here with a great game plan. They were extremely physical with our receivers to prevent them from doing their routes. On the other side of the ball, this is exactly the opposite happened. Their receivers were able to stand out and make big catches, which gave them the tempo in the game, “said Vert et or head coach David Lessard.
