BC Junior Football
Just three more weeks remain in the BCFC regular season. This weekend’s action begins with a battle between the league’s top team in the Vancouver Island Rebels (6-1) looking to extend their win streak to five games when they meet the league’s cellar dwellers, the Chilliwack Huskers (0-7), who are still in search of their first victory of the season. Kickoff at Exhibition Stadium at 2 pm on Saturday, September 18.
Also on Saturday, the Victoria Rebels (3-4) pay a visit to Hillside Stadium to face the Kamloops Blazers (3-4) with both squads looking to get back to an even .500 on the season. Kickoff is 7 pm.
The week closes out with the league’s other top team, the Okanagan Sun (6-1) looking to stretch their win streak to four games when they visit South Surrey Athletic Park to face the Big Kahuna Rams (3-4). Kickoff is at 3pm on Sunday, September 19.

University Football
The SFU Clan are still in search of their first victory as an NCAA team after falling to the Southern Oregon University Raiders on Saturday by a 31-18 score in a non-conference game. The Clan (0-2) will look for their first win as well as a measure of revenge from their week one loss to Western Oregon when they travel to Monmouth, Oregon for their first road game of the season. Kickoff is 1 pm.

The UBC Thunderbirds (1-1) picked up their first win of the Shawn Olson era in improbably fashion as they knocked off the no. 2 ranked Saskatchewan Huskies at Griffiths Stadium last Friday. The T-Birds now return home to face the winless Manitoba Bisons in their Homecoming game this Saturday, September 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm with a tailgate party beginning at 11:30 am in the stadium parking lot.
