Today we profile the Quarterbacks from Team BC:

Mikey Carney (St. Thomas More Knights)

Class 2012

Mikey has been playing quarterback since he was 8 years old. He started playing for Maple Ridge Community and as the years progressed moved to Burnaby and played for Burnaby Minor Football. Once he reached Grade 8 he went to Saint Thomas More Collegiate and has been playing QB ever since.

His QB coach at a young age was Demetreos Bourodemos from Vancouver Island. Mikey has also attended many camps and been coached by multiple coaches throughout his career.

When asked about this years Football Canada Cup Mikey had this to say. “I believe that the Football Canada Cup is a great opportunity to show your talents off to the whole country and to play against the best with the best in your province. I have confidence in my teammates and believe that we will have great success this year.”

Jordan Deverill (Mt. Douglas Rams)

Class 2012

Jordan has been playing football since he was 9 years old, and started as a quarterback with the Greater Victoria Minor Football Association. He was the quarterback for the provincial champion Victoria Renegades junior bantam team and is currently the starter for the Varsity Mount Douglas Rams.

He has had some tremendous coaching over his years. During the early years Charlie Cardillicia was instrumental in teaching him the fundamentals of the position. Recently he has worked with Jay Prepchuck (also Team BC OC) at his QB camps. Finally, Mark Townsend, head coach of the junior bantam Victoria Renegades and currently at Mount Douglas, has been the most influential coach for Jordan. On and off the field.

When asked about this years Football Canada Cup Jordan had this to say. “I am honoured to have been chosen to represent BC in the 2011 Football Canada Cup. It’s so exciting to have the opportunity to play with the best football players in the province and compete against the best football players in Canada. This 2011 team has lots of talent and along with the direction of our skilled coaches we are confident that we can bring home Gold to BC.”

Tyler Green (Seaquam Seahawks)

Class 2012

Tyler has been playing quarterback since grade 8 (5 years), all for the Seaquam Seahawks. During that time he has no ‘specific’ QB coach but two coaches that have taught him the most are Kris Pechet and Jerry Mulliss.

When asked about this years Football Canada Cup Tyler had this to say. “I am extremely enthusiastic and humbled to become a part of such a great experience. Being able to represent our province is something to take pride in. I am looking forward to meeting some very talented players as well as hopefully bringing the Cup to B.C.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
