Former Mounties Head Coach Jeffrey moves on to CFL

It took little time for Kelly Jeffrey to land a new job.

The former Mount Allison Mounties Head Coach has joined the CFL’s Toronto Argos as Special  Teams Coordinator.

Jeffery resigned from the Mounties this past November after a 10 year stint with the team.  When he arrived to the Mounties in 2006, he was an assistant coach.  Two years later (2008), Jeffrey took over the head coaching reins.  During his tenure, he guided the Mounties to two consecutive AUS Conference Championships (2013, 2014) and most recently, an appearance in the Championship final in 2015.

The CIS recognized Jeffrey as he was the recipient of the Frank Tindall Trophy as Coach of the Year in 2014.  Additionally, the former Mounties Head Coach was named AUS Coach of the Year three times (2010, 2013, 2014).

Previous to the Mounties, Jeffrey instructed many different teams south of the border. Those stints included student assistant receivers coach at Dickenson State University (1994-1995), running back coach at Northern State University (1996-1997), quarterbacks and special teams coach at San Diego State University (1998-2000), quarterback coach at UNLV (2001) and head coach at Maryville State University (2002-2005).

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
