Fort Saskatchewan recruit “excited” to sign with Golden Bears

Fort Saskatchewan running back/linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2016 class.

When it came to Justice Momoka’s gridiron and academic future, proximity played a role in his ultimate decision.

Recently, the two-way standout from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta signed with the University of Alberta Golden Bears.  Momoka will join the team for the 2016 CWUAA season.

Additionally, he felt at ease and liked the continual interest the Golden Bears showed in him.

“I’m a big family guy and wanted to stay close to them,” elaborated the running back/linebacker of his commitment.  “Another reason was that Coach [Chris] Morris has been really helpful over the last year really emphasizing how much he’s wanted me on the team.”

“I’ve also gotten to meet some of the coaching staff and they have been really nice and welcoming even before I had signed.”

This fall, Momoka will finish his career with Fort High [Saskatchewan] Sting of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association.  In 2014, he was named both Overall and Offensive Sting MVP.  He amassed 1086 yards on 140 carries, 85 yards on 10 receptions, 40 kickoff return yards and scored eight touchdowns. Moreover, Momoka caught two interceptions, registered 49 tackles, nine assisted tackles and recorded a sack.

“I’m really excited to be with this team,” added the two-way standout about the Golden Bears.  “They’ve had a couple rough years earlier but with them getting their first win in a couple years last season and to see the progress their making I really wanted to be a part of it.”
