WATERLOO, Ont. (May 31, 2013) – Four members of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks football team, two current and two alumni, were signed to CFL contracts over the past week.
Current athletes Alex Anthony of Victoria, B.C., and Isaac Dell of Niagara Falls, Ont., signed with the teams that drafted them early this month. Anthony was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders while Dell signed on with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
As for the alumni, former defensive standout Courtney Stephen, who transferred to the NCAA after two years with Laurier, signed with the team who drafted him in 2012, the Tiger-Cats. As well, former Laurier running back Mike Montoya joined the Toronto Argonauts.
In all four signings, none of the terms of the contracts were announced.
With all four players signing contracts, it brings the total number of current and former Laurier players attending CFL training camps to nine.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
