Jordan Trudel just completed his third year of football after starting in 2015 as a wide receiver with the Bishop Reding Royals in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA).

He also spent a season in the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) with the North Halton Crimson Tide.

During his career, he has had many opportunities to play several positions.

The Crimson Tide had introduced him to cornerback, while the Royals had him playing defensive back, and when needed wide receiver, tailback and slotback.

Since beginning his gridiron career, Jordan has been playing non-stop, whether it is training, practice or games.

β€œFootball has helped me to bring up both my grades and physical ability,” said Jordan.

During the offseason, the Royal does weight lifting and cardio, as well as playing rugby.

Rugby allows him to work on his tackling, carrying the ball and mostly his stamina, as rugby is a very physically demanding sport.

β€œMy hopes for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to not only improve my knowledge and ability at the sport of football, but also expose myself and my name to higher levels of football and coaching,” added the defensive back.

Moreover, Jordan’s competitive nature makes the CFC100 a goal that he uses to push himself forward.

On the field his idol is his high school gym teacher and coach, Dave Montoya.

β€œMr. Montoya not only got me involved with football, but he always makes sure that I am keeping football and my grades my main focus,” explained the Royal.

Without Mr. Montoya’s constant reminders of why he should keep playing football and why he should continue after high school, Jordan would not have gotten to where he is with both his athletics and academics.

β€œI love playing football as it allows me to push myself to my physical and mental limits and to exercise my competitiveness in a way no other sport has been able to,” commented Jordan.
