Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): RB Peskett hoping to get his name out to scouts

Logan Peskett started playing football two years ago and his experience thus far has been rocky.

“I started off my first season with a season ending injury and then missed my first school season,” said Logan.

The running back came back the following season to play with the Smiths Falls Renegades in the Smith Falls Minor Football Association (SFMFA), where the team made it to the finals. He also returned to his school team, the St. John Spartans in the Lanark County Interschools Athletic Association (LCIAA).

The Spartans had a 19-man team, where 15 of those players had never played before, but they were still able to put up good numbers on both offence and defence.

Logan is also participating in this year’s Fox 40 Prospect Challenge and his goals are to make and start on the team, as well as to get his name out to universities and other scouts.

During the offseason, the Spartan plays other sports, such as soccer, basketball and track.

On the field, Logan’s idol is Adrian Peterson because he is the first running back that the Spartan was introduced to. He also appreciates how close he came to breaking the single season rushing record after tearing his ACL the season before.

“He taught me that anything is possible as long as you put in the work,” commented Logan.

The running back loves playing football because it has a balance of sheer athletic talent, hard work and teamwork.

“Football has a great culture and provides a family outside of family,” added the Spartan.
