CFC100 to the CFL: WR Gittens Jr. has become a must-see attraction in Toronto

Despite multiple attempts in the United States to create a secondary football league, the CFL remains firmly above any professional football organization on the planet not named the National Football League. With a truly unique game and playstyle, not every collegiate standout or NFL veteran can cut it north of the border, and the Canadian ratio rules put a premium on being able to draft and develop players in possession of a Canadian passport.

The CFL offseason is in full swing, so it feels like the perfect time to look at some of the most distinguished Canadian high school football players currently in the CFL, and look ahead to what their futures might hold. This week, we are looking at Toronto Argonauts receiver and true U Sports all-time great CFC100 WR Kurleigh Gittens Jr. A native of Guyana, Gittens took to football like a fish to water, vastly improving his game every step of his career and proving that even the best scouts can sometimes overlook a player due to underwhelming size and athleticism. Gittens made his name with crisp route running and high football IQ at Laurier, both of which has served him well the further his career has taken him.
