GaΓ«l Bernard Perron transfers from Montreal to Sherbrooke

Sherbrooke, May 26, 2011 – Major shift on the college football world! The rookie quarterback GaΓ«l Bernard Perron, winner of three Bol d’ors with Volunteers CΓ©gep de Sherbrooke, decided to leave University of Montreal Carabins to join the Green & Gold of the University of Sherbrooke for the next season.

The younger brother of slotback Gabriel Bernard Perron had initially opted for the Montreal institution for academic reasons. But the taste of joining the cast of Andrew Bolduc and the opportunity to fight for the position number two next fall finally convinced him to return to his hometown.

In three seasons at the helm of the Volunteers offense, Gael amassed 2,600 yards while completing 17 touchdown passes.

“It still affects me when I lose a local talent to another team. Gael back here to see the experience of spring camp university is excellent news, “says AndrΓ© Bolduc.

Gael is a winner and he will adapt very well here, “he adds.

The new quarterback will be in Sherbrooke with the team tomorrow for training. It is timely because the veteran QB Nicolas Lafond has just moved on.

“We wish good luck to Nicolas in the future, “says Bolduc. “The arrival of Gael will not only fill his departure, but we will add a lot of depth.”
