Gaels Football to Host Kicking and Long Snapping Camp Again

The Queen’s Gaels football program will be holding a Kicking and Long Snapping Camp on April 6, 2013.

This year’s camp will be led by CFL Hall of Fame kicker legend Don Sweet (sweetspot11.com), a three time CFL All-Star and three time Grey Cup Most Valuable Canadian. Sweet, who works as the chief kicking consultant for both the Gaels and the 2011 Grey Cup champion B.C. Lions, will be instructing participants on proper kicking and punting techniques which he has also shared with current professionals Paul McCaullum of the Lions, Sean Whyte of the Montreal Alouettes, and Calgary Stampeders kicker Rene Paredis and punter Rob Maver.

Sweet will be joined by a number of football legends and current stars:

  • Rene Paredis – current Calgary Stampeder sensation
  • Josh Mavety – local kicking phenom and current Saskatchewan Roughriders player
  • Dillon Wamsley – Queen’s kicking sensation
  • Kevin Scott – current Hamilton Tiger-Cat and former Gael
  • Pat Corbin – Vanier Cup Champion and current Gaels coach
  • Nick Nucci – current Gaels long snapper
