Gee-Gee appeal (VIDEO)

Kingston defensive standout joins OUA team’s 2014 class.

After an official visit with the Ottawa Gee-Gees, Nick Zanet was hooked.

Soon after, the 6’2, 220 pound defensive end/linebacker from Kingston, Ontario committed to the Gee-Gees for the 2014 OUA season.

β€œOne of the main reasons I chose Ottawa is the direction they appear to be moving in,” explained Zanet of his decision.Β  β€œI think the future of Gee-Gees football is bright and I was very impressed with the turnaround they had last year under Coach (Jamie) Barresi’s staff.”

β€œI knew on my official visit that Ottawa was a good choice for me, I think I can contribute in any way they ask me to.”

Zanet comes to the Gee-Gees after completing his high school career with the Regiopolis Notre-Dame Panthers of the Kingston Area Secondary School Athletic Association (KASSAA). In addition to the Panthers, Zanet has also suited up for the Kingston Grenadiers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL). The defensive standout has been a two time captain on both teams.
