Gee-Gees announce 2016 class

Source: Ottawa Gee-Gees Sports Information

Gee-Gees football staff has gained letters of intent from 36 players who plan to suit up for the Garnet and Grey in 2016. The class includes a focus on lineman but covers all positions with players from Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Alberta.

The list of commits features nine players coming from CEGEP programs, an area which has traditionally and recently produced standout players for uOttawa. Among them is #CFC100 Michael Arruda, a quarterback who is considered a top prospect after his success during three seasons at Champlain-Lennoxville. The Gatineau native was the RSEQ Division 1 MVP for 2015 and he will be joined at the Gee-Gees training camp by his Cougars team mates Marco Palmieri of the offensive line and Charles Goulet from the defensive line.

Other team mates committing to uOttawa are the Horton High School duo of Luke Oulton and Evan Holmes, Westmount pair Joel Clairmont and Zach Plausini, and local tandem Myron Flowers, Gerrard Osakwe, and Dylan St. Pierre from St. Francis Xavier High School.

The Gee-Gees have also acquired three players transferring from other institutions: offensive lineman Logan Commanda of the Concordia Stingers, receiver Jaeger Prot from St. Mary’s, and defensive end Parker Bolton who spent the 2014 season at Saginaw Valley State.
