Gee-Gees gave Kingston recruit unique chance

Kingston wide receiver signs with OUA team.

One CIS team reached out to Carter Matheson and gave him an opportunity he could not refuse.

The 6’3, 185 pound wide receiver from Kingston, Ontario has signed with the Ottawa Gee-Gees.  Matheson will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

“I chose to commit to Ottawa for a couple reasons; academics, the campus itself and Coach [Jamie] Barresi,” expressed Matheson.  “I like that he is willing to give me a chance to play football after only playing one season and that he stresses the importance of working hard and doing well both on the field and in class.”

“Ottawa is also a great city that is not too far from home.”

The receiver has previously played for both the Frontenac Falcons of the Kingston Area Secondary School Athletic Association (KASSAA) and Limestone Grenadiers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
