London defensive lineman/fullback joins OUA team’s 2015 class.
Kevin Mackey is making a move to the Nationβs Capital.
Recently, the 6β0, 255 pound defensive lineman/fullback from London, Ontario committed to the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Mackey will join the team for the 2015 OUA season,
There were several reasons why Mackey decided upon the OUA team.
βI chose Ottawa not only because of the football program but also because I really liked the small campus that is right downtown and I love the outdoor activities that I can do in the Ottawa area,β explained the standout of his decision.Β βWhen I went on my visit, the coaches and the players made me feel really welcome as part of the team, and were super relatable.β
βI really liked the way that Coach [Jamie] Baressi runs the program along with their facilities.β
Among the teams Mackey has previously suited up for include Sir Frederick Banting Broncos of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA) and London Jr. Mustangs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL). This past season, he was named TVRAA Lineman of the Year.
