Getting ready for the Football season in Calgary

Calgary High school football is in full swing…..
My name is Denzel Morrison and this is my first blog. I have been playing since the age of 8, my position is running back but I have started playing some slot back. I am currently playing with Bishop O Byrne Bobcats Div 1 in Calgary. The weather has been cold and wet here, it usually does not get cold this early until at least October. There is a saying here in Calgary “wait 5 min and the weather will change” lets hope that’s the case… Fans are bundling up and the cold does not seem to keep the spectators away from cheering on their favorite team. Bobcats made it to the City finals last year against the tough team Notre Dame, I believe it will be a repeat this year with both teams in the city finals.
Our team got a head start with strength and conditioning trainers coming in since Feb and putting the team through a rigorous program which has definitely helped out with our agility, speed and power on the field.
Our first game of the season is on Tue and I will let you know how we do and how the other Calgary teams are fairing up.
