TORONTO – Chris Garrett, Korey Banks, Paul McCallum and Andrew Harris were named the Gibson’s Finest CFL Players of the Week for the second week of the 2011 CFL playoffs.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges including: former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan (@MattDuniganTSN) and Duane Forde (@DuaneFordeTSN), now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Gibson’s Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Week

Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Chris Garrett has been named Gibson’s Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Eastern Final. In his first ever CFL playoff game, Garrett had 29 carries for 190 yards and one touchdown. His longest run of the day was 25 yards. The product of Ohio University also had one reception for 10 yards. Garrett’s strong performance helped his team earn a berth in the 99th Grey Cup by defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 19-3.

Gibson’s Finest CFL Defensive Player of the Week
Korey Banks

B.C. Lions defensive back Korey Banks has been named Gibson’s Finest CFL Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Sunday’s Western Final victory over the Edmonton Eskimos. Banks registered six tackles and one interception which he returned 46 yards to the Eskimos 10-yard line, setting up a touchdown by Lions running back Andrew Harris.

B.C. Lions kicker and punter Paul McCallum has been named Gibson’s Finest CFL Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Lions Western Final 40-23 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos. McCallum was perfect on all four field goal attempts Sunday, and also added four converts for a total of 16 points. The West Division’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player connected on field goals from 31, 42, 44 and 17 yards. McCallum also had five punts for 184 yards and six kickoffs for 318 yards. This is McCallum’s sixth Gibson’s Finest Special Teams Player of the Week honour.

Andrew Harris
RB – B.C. Lions
Edmonton Eskimos 23 @ B.C. Lions 40
B.C. Lions running back Andrew Harris was named Gibson’s Finest CFL Canadian Player of the Week following his team’s win in the Western Final. Harris had seven carries for 41 yards and a 13-yard touchdown. The product of the Vancouver Island Raiders also had three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown, a 14-yard pass from quarterback Travis Lulay.
