The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Henry Burris
QB – Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Henry Burris was named the Offensive Player of the Month for July. Burris has completed 122 of 175 passes, thrown for 1,540 yards and a league leading 15 touchdowns. Some of Burris’ most impressive July stats include: Completing 27 of 30 passes against the Montreal Alouettes which tied him for the highest completion percentage (90%) in CFL history with at least 30 attempts. Burris also became the first quarterback to throw four touchdown passes in two consecutive games since Casey Printers accomplished the feat on October 16 and 22, 2005.
Burris has also thrown four touchdown passes in three of his last four games and became the first player to win consecutive Offensive Player of the Week awards since Milt Stegall in 2006. All these impressive statistics have helped Burris and the Ticats to a 3-2 record and a first place tie in the East Division.

J.C Sherritt
LB – Edmonton Eskimos
Edmonton Eskimos linebacker J.C Sherritt was named the Defensive Player of the Month for July. One of the cornerstones of an impressive defence, Sherritt has registered 41 tackles on the season and leads the league in that department. Sherritt was recognized twice in this young 2012 season as the Defensive Player of the Week and has been a key factor in allowing the Eskimos to share a tie for first place in the West Division.

Chris Williams
WR/KR – Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver/kick returner Chris Williams was named the Special Teams Player of the Month for July. Williams’ July highlights included two missed field goal returns: a 117-yard return and a 119-yard return for a touchdown. Williams also produced big numbers on his punt returns as he ran the ball back for a total of 281 yards and two touchdowns. Williams has been a key piece to a strong Ticat offence, contributing 517 combined return yards.

Andrew Harris
RB – BC Lions
BC Lions running back Andrew Harris was named the top Canadian Player of the Month for July. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native has contributed 351 yards and two touchdowns on 47 carries and 277 yards and two touchdowns on 29 receptions on the season to help the Lions share a lead for first place in the West Division. Harris has also been named the top Canadian Player of the Week twice in the 2012 season.
