The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Toronto Argonauts running back Chad Kackert was named the Offensive Player of the Week for Week 11. Kackert compiled a career high 172 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries and 67 yards on six receptions in the Argonauts’ 45-31 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Kackert helped the Argos score first in the crucial Labour Day Classic rematch as he ran 43 yards in to the endzone at 12:25 of the first quarter.
Kackert earned his first 2012 Player of the Week award in an impressive performance that helped the Argos to a first place tie in the East Division.

Jason Vega
DE – Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Saskatchewan Roughriders 25 @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers 24
Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive end Jason Vega was named the Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11. Vega registered six tackles and three sacks (both career highs) in the Bombers’ 25-24 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Vega contributed throughout the entire game, earning one sack in the first, third and fourth quarters that accounted for 19 total lost yards of Roughrider offence.
Vega’s solid defensive performance earned him his first 2012 Player of the Week award.

Demond Washington
KR – Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Saskatchewan Roughriders 25 @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers 24
Winnipeg Blue Bombers kick returner Demond Washington was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 11. Washington compiled 114 yards and one touchdown on four punt returns and 31 yards on two kick returns. Washington returned a Chris Milo punt 82 yards for the touchdown and put the Bombers on top heading into the second quarter.
Washington’s big day at Canad Inns Stadium earned him his first 2012 Player of the Week award.

Jon Cornish
RB – Calgary Stampeders
Calgary Stampeders 20 @ Edmonton Eskimos 18
Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish was named the Canadian Player of the Week for Week 11. Cornish ran for a career high 185 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries in the Stampeders 20-18 win over the rival Edmonton Eskimos. Cornish’s 59-yard touchdown run with 5:57 remaining in the fourth quarter was instrumental in helping the Stamps to a victory in the close game at Commonwealth Stadium on Friday night. The New Westminster, B.C native earned his third straight Canadian Player of the Week award for his strong play on Friday night.
