Gluppe named second team All-Independent

Burnaby, B.C. – Simon Fraser University Clan centre Kris Gluppe (Mission, B.C.) was named to the second team of the 2010 NAIA All-Independent Team, as announced by the NAIA Independent League for Football. Gluppe was also named a first team Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Star on November 16. SFU was eligible for NAIA postseason in 2010, and thus Gluppe was eligible for the award.

Gluppe started nine of ten games at centre for the Clan in 2010, coming off the bench in SFU’s game at Western Oregon due to injury. Gluppe was at the heart of an offensive unit that for four weeks of the season led the GNAC in rushing yardage. SFU finished the year second in the conference in team rushing, averaging 185 yards per game on the ground. Twice in 2010 SFU athletes were named GNAC Offensive Players of the Week.
