Claresholm linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2014 class
After touring the University of Alberta training facilities and speaking with Golden Bears Head Coach Chris Morris, Gavin Burns was hooked.
As a result, the 6’1, 240 pound linebacker (middle)/fullback from Claresholm, Alberta signed with the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.
“The facilities are top notch in Edmonton and the team has the option to practice football year round,” explained Burns of his decision. “The University of Alberta also has a lot focus on the football players’ education.”
“I think Coach Morris is in the process of turning things around with the football program and I would like to be a part of that when it happens.”
The linebacker is currently playing for the Claresholm (Willow Creek) Cobras of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA).
