Golden Bears land Edmonton recruit

Edmonton offensive lineman joins CWUAA team’s 2015 class

For Ramey Kharfan, staying home was the best option for him.

Consequently, the 6’4, 315 pound offensive lineman from Edmonton has committed to the University of Alberta Golden Bears for the 2014 CWUAA season.

“Some prominent factors leading me to stay home in Alberta for sure were the academic supports offered by the school itself,” explained Kharfan of his decision.  “Not only that, but I have full confidence in the coaching staff their especially Coach (Chris) Morris.”

“I’m excited to be part of a rebuilding team like the University of Alberta.  I feel like they have a really great core of guys to build around as well.”

Kharfan is currently playing for Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA).

Ultimately, the Alberta offensive lineman is excited to commence his career in front of the hometown crowd.

“It’s nice to represent my city and to stay home” added Kharfan.
