Golden Bears land second CFC 100 recruit

Edmonton linebacker becomes second CFC 100 to join CWUAA team’s 2014 class.

The Alberta Golden Bears have signed another CFC 100 recruit.

CFC 100 Brett Van der Korput is one of the recent recruits to commit to the Golden Bears.  The 6’2, 220 pound linebacker from Edmonton will join the team for the 2014 CWUAA season.

“I committed to the University of Alberta because I like how the program is being run on and off the field, from the on field workouts to the workouts in the weight room,” commented the CFC 100 linebacker of his signing.  “Also the amount of effort that is put into schooling and making sure you succeed and be the best you can be.”

“I believe that Coach [Chris] Morris is going to make that program great and I want to be a part of it when he does.”

Van der Korput is in the midst of his final season with the Harry Ainlay Titans of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA).

The Edmonton linebacker is the second CFC 100 recruit to sign with the Golden Bears.  In addition to Van der Korput, Cochrane quarterback Cody Stevens recently committed to the CWUAA team.
