Golden Bears offer appealing benefits to local recruit

Wide receiver/linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2016 class.

Zach Mann will be continuing his gridiron career at the CIS level in Edmonton next fall.

Recently, the 6ā€™1, 195 pound wide receiver/linebacker signed with the University of Alberta Golden Bears. Mann will join the team for the 2016 CWUAA season.

Academics played a prominent role in Mannā€™s decision.

ā€œI have chosen to commit at the University of Alberta is because of their electrical engineering program,ā€ elaborated the two-way standout.Ā  ā€œIt is one of the best universities to go to for that course and it benefits me most for my future ahead of me.ā€

Moreover, the positive direction the Golden Bears is heading towards was appealing to Mann.

ā€œI chose this university for the football program as well because they are improving their program every year and getting stronger every year,ā€ added the standout.Ā  ā€œThey as well have a great team and also great care of their players not only for injuries but for schooling too.ā€

Mann is a native of Montreal, Quebec.Ā  He began his gridiron journey in St. Lazarre Stallions.Ā  Currently, he is completing his final season with St. Joseph Celtics of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA), a team he joined in 2013 when he moved to Grand Prairie, Alberta.Ā  In 2014, Mann helped the Celtics win the Provincial Tier 2 Championship.
