Golden Bears perfect fit for Chilliwack recruit

Chilliwack wide receiver/defensive back joins CWUAA team’s 2015 class.

For Treyvon Walsh, it simply came down to one thing.

The University of Alberta Golden Bears were a perfect fit for him.  As a result, the 6’1, 170 pound defensive back/wide receiver from Chilliwack, British Columbia signed with the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

“I was really impressed by their facilities and the coaching staff,” commented Walsh on his decision.  “I feel that the coaching staff has the experience and knowledge to help me be the best football player I can be.”

“Coach [Chris] Morris has a background in education and I want to be a teacher. Their program has great academic support and is involved in community service.”

Once he took in his official visit at the Edmonton, Alberta campus, he was hooked.

“During my visit to campus, I was able to meet current players and it was definitely a family type of atmosphere,” reflected the two-way player.  “Being part of a rebuilding program is something I am used to.”

“My high school football experience was similar. We didn’t have high school football in our town for decades and it was exciting to be a part of that process.”
