Golden distinction

Toronto running back signs with OUA team.

Brad Inniss has found the perfect place to begin the next chapter of his gridiron career.

Recently, the 6’0, 220 pound running back from Toronto (East York), Ontario signed with the Queen’s Golden Gaels for the 2014 OUA season.

Academics were one of the factors in his decision to commit to the team.

“I chose Queens because it is the total package and right fit for me,” explained Inniss of his decision.  “First my academics are the most important and Queens is the best place for me to get my education.”

“The academics at this school are the best of the best and I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to show why I am a student-athlete.”

Moreover, there was another factor that played into his selection of the OUA school.

“Another reason why I chose Queens is the atmosphere of the university and the great city of Kingston,” added the running back.  “The university feels like home and it is a place where I know I will flourish.”

Ultimately, the chance to achieve his gridiron goals was too good of an offer to pass up.

“The Golden Gaels football program is simply amazing,” expressed Inniss.  “I cannot wait until training camp to compete and get better as a football player.”

“The school has a great history in football, and I can’t wait to plant my name in that history.”

Inniss comes to the Golden Gaels after completing his high school career with East York Goliaths of the Toronto District Secondary School Athletic Association (TDSSAA). In addition to the Goliaths, the running back has also suited up for the Metro Toronto Wildcats of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Upon his commitment to the Golden Gaels, Inniss has earned a dubious distinction.

Something that I learned is that I am the first person from my high school East York Collegiate Institute to attend Queens University in the last 40 years,” stated Inniss.
