Golden Hawks add Oakville recruit

Oakville defensive lineman recently joins OUA team’s 2015 class.

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks recently announced that Denver Kotack has signed with the football program.

Kotack, the 6’4, 225 pound defensive lineman from Oakville, Ontario, will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

β€œDenver is the rare prototype defensive end frame (6’4”), with the ability to add size in the future,” commented Golden Hawks Defensive Backs Coach as well as Special Teams and Recruiting Coordinator Dwayne Cameron.Β  β€œHe has a very explosive first step on his pass rush.”

Among the teams Kotack has previously suited up for include Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC), Halton Cowboys of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) as well as both St. Ignatius of Loyola Hawks and Holy Trinity Titans of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA). This past November, Kotack guided the Titans to an OFSAA Bowl victory.

Overall, the defensive lineman was impressed with how he was well received with the Golden Hawks and that ultimately tipped the scale in favour of the Waterloo, Ontario team.

β€œI chose Laurier because I believe they are very well ran and genuine to their recruits,” expressed Kotack.Β  β€œI’ve gotten to know the coaches also over the past few months and I feel we’ve built a relationship that is comfortable and welcoming.”
