London lineman recently joins OUA team’s 2015 class.
From the moment he was introduced to the campus and football program, Sam Adams knew that Wilfrid Laurier was the place where he would begin the next chapter of his academic and gridiron career.
Recently, 6β4, 240 pound lineman from London, Ontario committed to the Golden Hawks. Adams will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.
βI chose to commit to Laurier because I felt welcomed as soon as I met the coaches and visited the campus,β reflected Adams of his commitment.Β βCoach [Irv] Daymond really influenced my decision by going to watch my games and continuing to talk with me afterwards.β
βThe campus and the proximity to home was also a factor in my decision. My visit there went really well and I could see myself spending the next few years at Laurier. The football program continues to be successful and produce top players. I cannot wait to be a part of it.β
The lineman comes to the Golden Hawks after completing his high school career with St. Thomas Aquinas Flames of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA).Β In addition to the Flames, Adams has also suited up for the Forest City Thunderbirds of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC). During his career, he has played on both the offensive and defensive lines. When he officially joins the Golden Hawks, he will play on the offensive side of the ball.
Irv Daymond, Golden Hawks Offensive Line Coach, is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with a player who he has followed with interest for quite some time. Ultimately, Adams will be an asset for the team in future years.
βIn the amount of time that I have seen him play I know that he is a fierce competitor,β commented Daymond.Β βTracking him over the last couple years he brings it in November when games matter most.β
