Golden Horseshoe: CFC #1 Nelson ends season with big shutout victory (video & stats)

The second of five OFSAA Bowl games saw the Nelson Lords (CFC #1) and St. Paul Patriots face off, the winner awarded the Golden Horseshoe Bowl title. The Lords special teams gave the offense great field position early in the game and the Offense responded by scoring, going out to an early lead they never relinquished.

QB Will Finch and his receiving core, led by Doug Corby and Josh Vandeweerd had another productive playoff game. Finch finished the game with 3 touchdown passes and one on the ground. Corby had a touchdown on 74 yards receiving while Vandeweerd had 2 touchdowns on 49 yards receiving. A spectacular one-handed INT by Brett Rideout put the icing on the cake for the Lords.
