Golden Suns look to limit Hillis in quest for provincial title today

4A Final

[9-0] Saskatoon Holy Cross Crusaders CFC #5 vs. [8-0] Regina Leboldus Golden Suns CFC ‘HM’ – Griffiths Stadium 2pm

Holy Cross earned their second straight Saskatoon high school 4A championship with an exciting win over the Centennial Chargers 26 to 14.  Mitch Hillis has been ‘Mr. Everything’ for the Crusaders, with return TDs, receiving TDs, rushing TDs, and in last week’s final a passing TD.

LeBoldus kept their undefeated season intact with a convincing 32 to 0 victory over the Winston Knoll Wolverines.  Noah Picton, after a strong Football Canada Cup, has led his team to the provincial finals.  In the Regina city finals he had 285 yards and two touchdowns.  Keaton Hain  has been a force on the line of scrimmage and Parker Schikowski and Jeremy Wagman have been solid for the Suns.

3A Final

O’Neill Titans (Regina) vs.Bishop Mahoney Saints (Saskatoon) @ Mosaic Stadium 2pm

O’Neill won their third consecutive Regina 3A championship defeating Greenall 35 to 18.  Derek Eckert had 107 yards rushing and 90 yards receiving in the victory.  Mahoney got to the championship by winning t the Saskatoon title then defeating the Moose Jaw champion.  The Saints defeated the Titans in the 2011 final 22 to 14.
