Guelph adds QB depth: 3 players with family ties to Gryphons commit (video)

The Guelph Gryphons secured 3 QBs today for their 2011 recruiting class. All 3 have family ties to the Gryphons.

Jazz Lindsey
(QB 6’2 185 Villanova College, Toronto Thunder), who lives in Markham, committed to the Gryphons for 2011 season. His brother, REC Saxon Lindsey, played in East West Bowl in 2011 and was a transfer from Wilfrid Laurier. Jazz is a very athletic QB who has had success at all levels played.

Matt Woehl comes to the Gryphons via Fort Erie, Ontario (QB 5’11 200 Ridgeway Crystal Beach HS, Niagara Spears). His brother is Nick Woehl who plays offensive line for Guelph.

James Welton (QB 6’2 200 Silverthorn Colligiate Institute) is an athletic QB or receiver who is playing his summer ball with the Etobicoke Eagles. James is from Mississauga and played for the Mississauga Warriors in 2010. His father is a Gryphon Alumni who won the 1984 Vanier Cup and was the most valuable player of the Gryphons bowl game that season.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
