Guelph lands big-time defensive end Thompson from Burlington

Jordan Thompson will be attending the University of Guelph in 2011. Jordan comes from two time OFSSA Golden Horseshoe Bowl Champion Notre Dame Secondary School in Burlington and the OFC Champion Burlington Varsity Stampeders team.

Jordan was the OFC Varsity Final Defensive MVP in 2009 and led the varsity team in sacks the last 3 years. He was one of the premier pass rushing defensive ends in Ontario high school football in 2011, as demonstrated by the three sacks he recorded for the Golden Horseshoe All Stars in this year ‘s all star game vs the GTA All Stars.

This 6’3″ 210 lb defensive end relies on his quickness, speed and superior technique to beat larger opposing offensive tackles. Jordan prides himself on chasing and terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.

Thompson regularly drew double teams in high school by offences desperate to keep him out of the backfield or who tried to contain him on outside running plays, usually without success.

Thompson chose Guelph over a number of other schools who were recruiting this exceptional player. He joins Notre Dame and Stampeder teammates Dillon Dimitroff, and Daniel and Brett MacDonald on the Gryphon squad and is looking to contribute immediately.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
