Holland College Hurricanes welcome coach Steve “Macca” MacDonald to camp

What’s the difference between a hurricane and a tornado? The Holland College Hurricanes Football Club will find out, when Coach Steve “Macca” MacDonald of the Malden (Massachusetts) High School Golden Tornadoes helps out at Saturday’s mini-camp at the Stratford Soccer Complex.

Coach MacDonald is assistant head coach and offensive line and linebackers coach for the Malden High School team. He has over twenty years of coaching experience from Pop Warner youth football through to high school and the NCAA college level. During his time with the Malden High program, Coach MacDonald has coached a fifth round NFL draft pick, two All-Scholastic players, one Super 26 All-State player, and numerous players who have gone on to perform at the NCAA level. Over the years, his various teams have won conference and state titles and achieved national rankings.

Along with his high school coaching duties, Coach “Macca” organizes football camps (including NFL Junior Development Camps) in the Greater Boston area and elsewhere in New England.

“I am looking forward to my visit to PEI and really appreciate the invitation to work with Coach MacDougall and his staff. Three of my players are also excited to be participating in this camp, and I anticipate that it will be the start of a great relationship between Malden High and Holland College,” Coach MacDonald commented in a phone interview.

Saturday’s camp runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Soccer Complex in Stratford. All 2011 prospects and returning players from 2010 are strongly encouraged to attend. The mini-camp will include combine testing and position drills.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
