Hurricanes host Predators in 2013 season opener

Hamilton, Ontario — The Hamilton Hurricanes will open the 2013 OFC campaign at home against the Twin Cities Predators. The Hurricanes will be looking to start the season with a ‘W’ and are looking to make it back to the OFC Championship game for the fourth consecutive season.

The Canes have been busy this off-season signing 10 former CIS football players from all across the country. Among the top signings were DE Christian D’Aguilar (McMaster), WR Andrin Masotti (McMaster), WR Lucas Spagnuolo (UBC), and WR Matt Coates (New Mexico Military Academy). The Canes were clearly in search of size, speed, and talent when building out the roster for the 2013 season.

The Twin Cities Predators are looking to move up from the basement of the OFC this season and prove that they are true contenders in this conference. They will have a battle on their hands as they face one of the most well-rounded football teams junior football has seen in Hamilton in many years.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Mohawk Sports Complex in Hamilton. Mohawk Sports Complex will be home to the Hurricanes for the 2013 season as the new Tim Horton’s Field is being built on the former Ivor Wynne Stadium site.
