Hurricanes return home, prepare for hungry Seawolves team

Thursday, September 24, 2015 – Charlottetown, PE – The Holland College Hurricanes Football Club will look to extend their undefeated streak to 13 games when they host the University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves this Saturday at 1 p.m. at the UPEI Alumni Games Place.

The Seawolves (0-1) make their return to Charlottetown for the first time since their 31-15 defeat in the championship game last November. They’ll look to turn things around against a Hurricanes (1-0) squad who won the last two Moosehead Cups at the hands of the Seawolves.

Hurricanes’ head coach Kyle Quinlan said his team will have a huge target on their back heading into the weekend contest.

β€œI know this will be a hungry Seawolves team. They are well coached and have some tremendous athletes,” he said. β€œOur guys know that we have a big target on our backs and we experienced that first hand last weekend. We need to continue to match our opponent’s intensity and focus because we have earned their best effort every game.”

The Hurricanes, who forced three turnovers last week against the Dalhousie Tigers (two interceptions and a fumble), will look upon their defence once again to maintain its strong play, while the offence continues to find their rhythm.

β€œDefensively we will continue to advance that system and have some great pieces and experience to do so. Offensively it always takes a bit more time to come together and gel, so we hope to take a step forward this week as a unit,” Quinlan said.
