Hurricanes return to Halifax this weekend to take on Tigers in playoff game

Charlottetown  – The Holland Hurricanes Football Club will return to Halifax this weekend to take on the Dalhousie University Tigers in one of two Atlantic Football League playoff games being held this Saturday.

The Hurricanes and the Tigers tied in a hard-fought game last weekend, leaving the Tigers in second place and the Hurricanes in third at the end of the regular season. Although there are six points in the difference between the two teams, Hurricanes head coach Mark MacDougall said that last week’s game was a clear indicator of how close the two teams really are, and believes that the Hurricanes have a good chance to make it to the championship game next weekend.

“Last week’s game could very easily have gone one way or the other, but both teams dug deep and gave no more ground. This week’s game promises to be one of the most exciting of the season,” he said.

Game time is 6 p.m. at Wickwire Memorial Field on the Dalhousie University campus in Halifax. In other AFL playoff action, last place UNB Fredericton Red Bombers go up against the regular season champions, the UNB Saint John Seawolves at 6 p.m. at the Canada Games Stadium in Saint John.
