β€’ Fifth-year safety Bryce McCall snared his 20th career interception in the loss to Manitoba. He sits just one away from tying the CIS record.

CIS RECORD WATCH
Huskie safety Bryce McCall sits one interception away from tying the CIS career record of 21. It would also break the CanadaWest and Huskies record in the category. The record of 21 is shared by Bob Coffin (Saskatchewan, 1970-74), Peter McNabb (Toronto & Queen’s) and Matt Carapella (Western).

T-BIRDS/HUSKIES SERIES
Since 1998, the Huskies are 17-4 against the T-Birds in conference action, including a 36-33 win in the lone regular season meeting between the two teams in 2011.

No. 9 UNIVERSITY OF SASKATCHEWAN HUSKIES (1-1)
Next Week: Regina Rams
The second half letdown against Manitoba was disappointing for the Huskies but the group will look to rebound.
In the back-and-forth affair, Manitoba rallied back after the Huskies took a late fourth quarter lead with a six play, 75 yard drive that had a gutsy third and 11 call on the Huskies’ 31 yard line against the wind. The Bisons completed a 24-yard pass to keep theball moving and then found the end zone with 2:02 left on the clock. The Huskies had a chance to rally after receiving a safety to bring the game within a field goal but just missed the first down marker with 19 seconds left in the game.
Rookie quarterback Drew Burko once again proved he can be a force in the CIS completing 23-of-39 passes for 290 yards in the loss. Receiver Kit Hillis has become his favourite connection with 11 receptions for 121 yards. He also hit Mitch Stevens for a 59-yard play. Running back Jeremy Andrew continues to turn heads in the absence of starting tailback Dexter Janke. Andrew recorded 113 yards for one touchdown in the game.
Defensively, Bryce McCall led the Huskies with 6.5 tackles and one interception, while Travoy Martinez, Luke Thiel and Joel Seutter each had five tackles a piece.

UBC THUNDERBIRDS (0-2)
Next Week: Calgary Dinos
To the surprise of CIS football fans, UBC sits winless entering Saturday’s game. The T-Birds suffered an opening loss to the Manitoba Bisons and were outscored 42-7 in the second half last week in a 49-20 loss to the Regina Rams.
UBC had control of the Week 2 date against the Rams leading 13-7 at halftime before being dominated in the second half, turning the ball over four times, allowing six touchdowns and 42 points. The third quarter was the difference as the T-Birds turned the ball over three times – two interceptions and one fumble).
Veteran quarterback and 2011 Hec Creigton nominee threw for 1999 yards and a touchdown in the first half, but struggled in the second managing just eight passing yards and tossing three interceptions. He left the game in the fourth quarter.
The T-Birds’ 31-24 Week 1 loss to Manitoba was much closer but a later drive was also lost due to a turnover. After forcing a two-and-out on Manitoba with under a minute left in the game, UBC fumbled the punt return losing any chance for a comeback.
Statistically, Greene is 31-for-65 with 439 passing yards for three touchdowns. He also adds 164 rushing yards to his tally. His main target is Micha Theil with six catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Vivie Bojilov leads the T-Birds with 12 tackles, followed by Bryan Rideout with 10.
